How does two-factor authentication work?
Two-factor authentication may sound complicated but, trust us, its not.
Here’s how it works:
- Your laptop is secured using the ProtectDrive software.
- Your entire hard drive is encrypted, which allows access to the operating system and data files after successfully authenticating the correct username and password.
- In addition to ProtectDrive software, you plug-in a USB Ikey 2032 authentication token.
- The USB token contains a unique authentication signature that works in conjunction with ProtectDrive to provide the ultimate level of security for your mobile device.
- Without the Ikey token, the laptop will not boot to the operating system and will be inoperable.
The two-factor authentication is obtained by something you have (the Ikey 2032) and something you know (the username and password for the system).
